バイヤーさん 2T HDDの不具合、OSアップデートしたら?というアドバイスで無事解決できました。ありがとうございます。 ランダムアクセスでのメッセージなしのフリーズから回避できました。
大したものではありませんが、節電工事後の動画ができています。 携帯からとっているものですので、ノイズすごいですが、15000回転HDDの稼働音がきこえるはずです。

手持ちの最大容量のUSBメモリが、FreeBSD-8.1-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img の 容量がわずかに足りない;; とりあえず、仕方ないので、なぜかあいてたUSBHDD (実は昔のVAIOのHDD30Gを取り外し、玄人思考のUSBケースにいれたもの) に dd if=filename of=/dev/da? っとやった そして、なんとかブートしてくれたんだけど、ファイルシステムからの インストールは不可能;; まぁ、仕方ないので、 ftp://ftp.jp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/8.1-RELEASE/ を、フルにwgetして、そして、ホスト名解決もだめだったから IPアドレスで・・・ ftp://192.168.1.1/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/8.1-RELEASE で直接指定した。 そしたら、何度か失敗したが、なんとかインストールできたと・・・・汗

大したものではありませんが、節電工事後の動画ができています。 携帯からとっているものですので、ノイズすごいですが、15000回転HDDの稼働音がきこえるはずです。

手持ちの最大容量のUSBメモリが、FreeBSD-8.1-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img の 容量がわずかに足りない;; とりあえず、仕方ないので、なぜかあいてたUSBHDD (実は昔のVAIOのHDD30Gを取り外し、玄人思考のUSBケースにいれたもの) に dd if=filename of=/dev/da? っとやった そして、なんとかブートしてくれたんだけど、ファイルシステムからの インストールは不可能;; まぁ、仕方ないので、 ftp://ftp.jp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/8.1-RELEASE/ を、フルにwgetして、そして、ホスト名解決もだめだったから IPアドレスで・・・ ftp://192.168.1.1/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/8.1-RELEASE で直接指定した。 そしたら、何度か失敗したが、なんとかインストールできたと・・・・汗
